Fav part: Love that bass line in the verses, and the legato vocal that contrasts it. The funky background vocal in the chorus is a cool edition, but it's the verse that grabs me.

Red Motherfucker (demo) by Funestones
I thought this was going to be a badass song, given the title. Something with screaming rage of energy and spite, echoing roadrage (that red motherfucker just cut me off!).
Well, it doesn't deliver what I hoped it would. Maybe if the vocals had been screaming I would appreciate this. The vocal does keep the song going, in a "dirty deeds" AC/DC sort of way, which I can dig. Give me more! More feeling! Until then, it's [okay]. It almost goes where I'd like it to, with the one scream about halfway through, but rage needs to be directed and guided in order to make my book of "good".

I Love Leonard Cohen by Robin Grey
Ah, a bland folk rendition attempting to be humorous and interesting but falling short of all of that and not only that, but the phrases don't turn well (unless you like children's songs like "row row row your boat") at all and don't leave any hook. Drivel. It doesn't get much more boring than this.

The female vocal needs to eat less mushrooms and spend less time in fields of daisies. The lack of passion is stifling, given the lofty emotional themes of "love for of the man". You might as well be singing "we love laundered linen" or something.

sunny p by charles vestal
Intro is way too long. I lost interest about about a minute in with nothing except a synth and a thin beat to lean my ears on. And it doesn't go anywhere. Just a thin beat and a synth the whole way thru? At least give a vocal or at least some different beat and chord changes to make it worth listening to.

fall to decay by redtails
Yawn. The singer sounds like he's yawning. This blasts mediocrity. Not bad by any means, but not grabbing.

Someday (You'll See) by Steve Chatterton
I agree with everyone else's comments about the vocals. thought that the wide L/R production on the vox wasn't quite the right choice, would've preferred a plainer vocal straight up the middle. Really like the rotary guitar when it enters. The harmony vox are nice, being wide, but the lead voc I'd prefer to hear straight up the middle with a 60s vintage feel.

Rise Chicken by Glenn Case
I really like the distorted/clean vocal contrast. And the chorus part is hooky. Wanted to hear more "rise, rise" with delay or something culminating into madness. The ping pong fuzz guitar blankets the mix too heavily for me. Wanted to hear it switch to a nasly, gritty guitar during the verses. I still give it a "good". Love the line that ends the final chorus. Wanted to hear one more chorus with more layered vocals. And big reverb on the drums.

This Is Old by State Shirt
It's done well, sounds good, but lacks energy. Just needs more energy in any emotional direction, I don't care if it's negative emotions or positive ones. Suggests apathy, hence [okay]. Good music, to me, is music that inspires a strong emotion in one direction or the other.

Sterbentanz by del cavallo
Sounds great. A nice change, and a nice sound scape. I appreciate this genre very much. [good]

Methamphetamin by o!peraEftos
It's the line "pseudo-reality under the influence of c10h15n " that makes me able to appreciate this. Without that, appreciation of this song is futile.
