Austin by charles vestal
This is a rad rad song. I don't care for certain elements of this recording, but if someone else recorded this a bit cleaner and slower, people would eat this shit up and beg for seconds.

You and Me Make a Good Team by Ken Mahru
You know what would make this song perfect? If it was a back and forth duet with a lady.

Our Iron South by blue lang
This song would sound good on a mix CD for a party. It's mostly weird, but not so weird that the hot girls would complain to whoever made the CD was a douche. The chorus is the best part. It would sound betterer with an extra instrument on the chorus. Maybe a lady's voice, or a violin or something.

Regardless, this song is good enough for me. I will try and sneak it into the mix of the next party I get my fingers into.

I Want To Get On It by Lunkhead
This song is cool. Songwritingly, it reminds me of "Hate to Say I Told You So" by The Hives. If you would do that song in this style, that would be awesome as well.

Lyrically, the first verse is frickin perfect. SOLID. The second verse, that whole "I'm finally acting my age, we all have roles to play" part just kinds of springs out of nowhere and seems kind of weird because it implies a whole lot that needs more splaining, which you can't really do in a list song. If you feel like tweaking anything, I'd tweak here. The third verse is nice. I wish it ended with more resolution, though.

I like this song.

Did That All Before by Brandon Patton
Okay, I like this song is better than alot of crap that people like on here. As the two before me said, it's painted with a lot of Generica that cover up the cool parts of the song.

My biggest gripe (that has not already been mentioned) is that lyrically the chorus leaves me hanging. "I did that all before I met you" seems ambiguous: are you going to do it again, or not bother this time? I can't tell. Maybe the narrator is waffling as well, but I never get the sense of any resolution. Maybe if the bridge (or ending) switched up the chorus lyrics. Maybe if you changed the chorus lyrics in general. I dunno, there's something about the lyrics being in the past tense that makes it hard for me to connect with the narrator.

The Year is 1984 by Flvxxvm Florvm
This sounds nothing like music from the eighties.

Evan Is Getting His Teeth by frankie big face
Hmmmm. The song itself is pretty good. Lyrics are cute. The chorus is fun, and hooky. I think you could have worked on the verse melody more to mask the WDStF similarities, because it's already 1/2way to not really sounding all that much like it.

With regards to the arrangement, I am finging myself not liking it at all. The guitar tone in the beginning it too processed (flangey? phasery?), and the lead guitar tone is too muddy. It sinks into the song, instead of soaring above it. The drums are so darn manic for most of the song, that they start to become annoying. I think it would have sounded much better if it was played straight for the most part (not even that little funk part in the breakdown) with small little blasts of funk here and there, and tiny bursts of manic gonzo drums in other places. The bass is so weinery, too.

I think the problem is that it's straddling the line between power-pop and straight up rock. Like go all power-pop and smooth out the edges, or go more rock and dirty it all up. But it seems to be a weird hybrid that doesn't work.

I am giving you an [okay].

(COVER) Long Gone by Tuuur
I don't know the original.

This song is not in your key. And while I could forgive a note out of your range if it came later in the song, you sing the word "gone" about 13 seconds into the song, and it tarnishes the rest of the vocal performance for me. It's like I'm precringing every time that section repeats.

I wish the tremeloey guitar was less panned. This feels really long, and it doesn't seem to do anything different as the song progresses to justify the length. I don't really care for this song.
