One Two by Freddielove
I disagree with the prior comment - I think the mixing is spot on already, and that the vocals sound great as they are. I really love ultra-short songs that still hold up as *songs*. [Super]

Talkin' Kitty Hawk by frankie big face
What a peculiar vocal delivery from you (i think the accent worked convincingly). Agreed with prior comments - the vinyl doesn't bother me so much as I don't think the mix as a whole sounds tinny enough to match it.

Kitty Hawk by Add
Wish it was harmony instead of wobbly unison after the first go at "back to Kitty Hawk." The bit after the second one (through to the end) is really gorgeous, and totally brings the song together.

hummer vision by phonecallsolved
Very nicely put together, enough so that the vocals I was hoping for at the beginning don't really wind up being necessary. I'm happy to read that this will have some multi-media life, because it surely will work in that medium.

Fergalicious (Cover) by Dave Corun
You have a couple of nice vocal moments and guitar rhythms that you could use to tighten this up for future performances, but otherwise it's more a jazzy test run than an actual song.

Austin by charles vestal
Some awkward rhythms in the vocals in the verses, which weren't nearly as engaging as the chorus - I think it's good to keep the higher register as the distinguishing hook, but don't leave the verses hanging. At points it reminded me of "Imitation of Life" by REM, but also of some of David Bowie's recent baritone vocals on Hours and Heathen (perhaps head one of those places there for some ideas to improve the verses?)

I liked the constant fuzz, and loved how it broke into the solo, but I think the bass sound was a little too indistinguishable to anchor the entire song - would have preferred a punchier bass sound, or some subtle low power chords here and there.

The more I listened to this the more I liked it. You've definitely get a strong tune on your hands.

Brownie Points by frankie big face
Whoa.

Vocal needs come up slightly, and towards the end there's a weird volume/rhythm thing right after "rejoice." but otherwise this is uniquely good. Like some kind of Tex-Mex/Jazz cover of a Jackson 5 song.

Seriously, after the horn solo I really thought it was going to break out into "I Want You Back."

There Will Never Be A Portrait by The Von Bots
Though the drum intro helped to get it gong I'm not sure that they needed to continue in that capacity - takes some of the attention off of the main performance by keeping it a little too ... buoyant? You get some nice moments going with the background piano/organ. Also, was hoping for more of a crescendo (vocal and otherwise) through "monument ... testament" into the last chorus.

I liked the bowed-sounding instrument towards the end - if you ever have it available to you it might be nice to also replace some of the electric bass parts with a bowed bass or cello to keep the mood somber.

Nothing In My Way (Keane) by Ceriel
At points I was quite involved in the performance, but on the whole it's not very distinct. I suspect I'd like it better than the original, though.

One More Reason by Glenn Case
I don't like this nearly as much on it's own as I did in the context of Throw Money - it's strong but not a single, ya know? Not that all SomeSongs songs must be singles. In any event, I still think it's one of your all-time cleanest mixes.
