[updated feb. 11th, 2004, with better drum samples, another not-quite-good-enough-yet vocal take, and a slightly different mix] Submitted for a Song Fight. I rerecorded a few bits and remixed this based on the feedback I got. This is a pretty straightforward "rock" song, I guess.

I wish the vocal performance had more enthusiasm. Everything's well done, the bass and guitar sound really great. But it's hard to get behind the vocals. They make me go "eh".

I agree about the vocals, especially in the choruses. Nice mix. I wish the hi hat was playing straight eigths in the verses.

The drums patches are cheesy sounding. The vocals are a little too drab compared to the looseness of the music, and either need some reverb or to just back off the mic (proximity effect). I like the instrumental section in the middle.

i can't bring myself to give this more than ok - it's like there's a lot of good parts there but the combination doesn't hit me. the harmony vox are off key + i definitely agree on the vocals in general.. i really don't hear much difference between this and the original. i would like to hear the song done by a different singer.

Nice funky tune; for some reason i expect your songs to be more straight-rockers. I didn't really object to the vocals (maybe a little underdelivered), but the lyrics (esp. the rhyming) just didn't do much for me (other than the chorus, which i liked).

i'm not usually into "issue" songs, but this is actually a really great take on the title. i can take or leave the song, but the instrumental portion of the song is solid and has a nice groove. i want to give this a good and so i will.

i like the presentation of the lyrics in the chorus, it seems like a pretty creative way to get your point across. the guitar solos kick ass too. could use a bit less cymbals.

Nice funky guitar! I like this song but the execution is a bit sloppier than I'm used to expect from you. Still better than I can do it though... [good].
